I am a self taught artist living in Texas. I primarily paint with acrylics and oils but on occasion enjoy painting with watercolors. I experiment with various forms of mixed media and textures. Natural surroundings of the Texas Hillcountry, rural East Texas, and scenic views of Nashville, Indiana have been influences on my work. Coming from a strong musical background, listening to music is an essential component to the creations of my artwork. When painting, I connect with the canvas by allowing the flow of my brush, color selections, and textures be guided by the expressions of the music played. I allow myself free from being committed to a specific style or composition, but rather allow the music and natural surroundings take my brush and color to lead the creation of the piece. I find that the completion of a painting often ends in a different place than from the initial thought.
